Yeah, im trying now to study in my free-time, but im for sure not taking in DEC or FEB and not applying this cycle. Just wondering if I should shoot for June and Sept as backup or just focus on Sept as THE GAME DAY lol. I have sometime to figure it out. Just gotta make sure I don't lose what Ive been studying the last few months and keep up on itBarack O'Drama wrote:Yeah, same here. I'm kind of deciding if I want to wait until next June/September, which would give me plenty of time to prep, plus allow me to keep working in the meantime. I think shooting for next cycle sounds good, especially if you'll be able to prep full-time all summer!jagerbom79 wrote:Im trying to decide if I should shoot for June or just next September. I use the Cambridge Packets and PTs 1-38 for drill by type material.
PTs 40-60 for drilling sections timed + BR
and I am going to use PTs 60+ for full-timed tests.
Something like this anyway.
Na, I wish I was at the point. I've decided to postpone until next cycle so I can take the Feb or June test. Shortly after I began my prep for December, I took a job offer and it really cut into my prep time.
Also, a test per day sounds kind of steep. Maybe I'd do 2-3 a week and spend a lot of time on blind review.

Thanks! I missed 2 on RC and the SEP exam, but I think you are right that I should put some more effort there. I did PT 32 today to get a new-ish baseline / check if I regressed much in the month off of studying. I went 171: -5 LR1, -3 RC, -3 LG, -0 LR2. The 1st passage of RC actually felt really hard to me, but then the rest was okay. It at least encouraged me to put in more time on RC! I've started a spreadsheet for BR tracking all sorts of things, including the time I took on each question so I'll keep developing that to identify patterns as I go.cherrygalore wrote:It looks like you have room to improve for LR and RC. It would be ideal to get those down to -1 on average. If you really drill those, then even if a fluke LG gets you, your score will still be in the 170s. To do this, I would take old LR and RC sections every day to really practice them. Then, see what types of questions you're missing and thoroughly review them. Do 2-3 timed full-length tests per week (more recent tests, 60 and up). As for LG, I would drill game sections with less time (maybe 28 min, 7 per game) so you can get in a habit of doing them faster, then when the actual test comes the 35 min should be plenty.batlaw wrote:Hi everyone, thought I'd check in here and join this group!
My 1st take was this SEP and I got 5-10 lower than I'd been PTing. On my last 6 PTs I averaged 170 with -1.5 LG, -3.5 LR (x2), -3 RC (best PT is 176x2). On SEP I freaked out about timing and went -7 on LG (I've never missed more than 3 before!). Before SEP I had tried the Blueprint movie and found the printed material useful, but the video explanations / lessons not that useful / slow. I also have the basic 7Sage and have been using it for tracking and some explanations, but I'm just not sure learning from video / class format is right for me. I've done PT 68-78 (except maybe 71/74). I have LSAT Trainer and LG Bible and access to almost all the PTs. I'm in a position where I could put in 5+ hours / day, just trying to figure out the best use of my time (LG v. LR, PTing with lots of BR/ tracking patterns and refining strategies v. re-learning strategy from other sources, etc.)!
I'm still working on deciding a realistic goal and my exact plan and strategy for the next 6 weeks, but I'm hoping to improve along with all of you!
Does anyone else normally miss most of their LR in one section instead of evenly splitting?

Yeah I usually miss 4/5 total (average -2.4) on LR and usually its like 1/4 split between the two sections.batlaw wrote:Thanks! I was reading past threads (maybe on reddit....maybe being definitely) and they said the games were hard. If September had those games at all I would have been super happy, but can't cry over spilt milk just not letting december catch me like beforeMikey wrote:i wish i could go back and take june's test again with the shit i know nowdj9i27 wrote:after section 3 for me (rc) I regretted not taking it in June lolHobbesy wrote:I didn't realize September was considered to be a "weird" exam overall but looking back at my score report, that makes perfect sense.dj9i27 wrote:September was a very strange test, 2 difficult RC passages and whatever the hell viruses was made me think the-12 curve was harsh, June had a mildly hard LR and hard RC but games was normal. you already know the question on December is up to you, if you feel ready and confident go for itMikey wrote:i guess the potential is there, but no, i'm not as lsat smart as some of the people on here. lol.dj9i27 wrote: you were hitting 17X before September weren't you? is it text anxiety, for me that was definitely a contributing factor on test day.

I use reddit mostly for dank memes as does the rest of the population but stumbled upon their lsat page mostly because Mike Kim is on there every now and again. Your right though the proportion of 17Xers is much higher here, T14 & Bigt Lawl 4LyfeMikey wrote:lol, naw.. When will LSAC release the actual PT 79? Also, can anyone link me to the virus game questions? I know explanations exist, but no questions?!?!

And, I mean, you have to wait until they release the test to get the actual questions.

Can someone explain to me what y'all mean by "Blind Review" or just what y'all do after a PT? I took the test in September and didn't really rigorously review my missed questions, but did track how many of each type I missed, and found no one LR question type just killed me, but I'm starting to go through my missed answers more carefully this time. Is there anything else y'all do after a PT that I can start doing?

You should do great with this much time ahead of you. Plus since you're already in school, you have the cognitive discipline that those of us out of college sometimes lack. Use your time wisely. Don't slack off. Do lots of practice tests. And good luck!PrezRand wrote:I guess I'm one of the few college kids on this board with a lot of free time. Basically the idea of a Blind Review is to take the test timed. Don't look at the score. Go back and do it again untimed, circle any question that you're not completely clear and certain on, no matter if you think you missed it or not. Review missed answers and questions that confused you. Determine if it's a matter of time or lack of knowledge on the question type that affected your wrong answers.Tazewell wrote:Can someone explain to me what y'all mean by "Blind Review" or just what y'all do after a PT? quick tip for test day: If you want to sit in the back of the room so you're not in the middle and close to everybody else, stall around the room and enter the room last. I was last in line and some people came behind be and I went to the bathroom and came back. Got a perfect seat in the last row.

So I was telling my writing professor, who went to one of HYS, about how disappointed I was with my score. And he said that when you're in law school, no one gives a damn about your LSAT. And when he graduated, he worked in BigLaw alongside ppl from schools ranked a lot lower. He also knew ppl who didn't do well in law school, but are great lawyers. This made me feel a lot better so hopefully it'll do the same for some of you on here.
