So, are you able to catch the issues via BR without time? In LR, is there a consistent question type that you're missing? For me it was flaws and weaken which are somewhat related. Once I figured out what I was doing wrong, both went up.King of the North wrote:Well that’s the problem. My breakdown. It varies. On LG I went -4 and -3, respectively, on back to back PTs. Yesterday was -8. LR and RC is around -9. Yesterday I went -6 on one LR and -10 on the other. It’s the inconsistency that ruins my score. I should’ve broken into the 160s two tests ago but I ruined that by performing poorly on LG.Experiment626 wrote:King of the North wrote:somethingElse wrote:That's plenty of time to make that kind of jump.King of the North wrote:I’ve taken like 7 PTs and all have been 157 or 156. 10 points? In less than 3 weeks?
It's possible, depending on what your stats are. I went up from mid 150's to mid 160's in a week after I figured out an issue on a high chance question type.
What's your breakdown?

Yeah. On BR I do much better. I don’t get a perfect score on BR. But I get a significantly higher number of questions correct.
In LR, the 4 I’m having the most trouble with are SA, NA, strengthen and weaken. And flaw is close up there as well.

Is it just me or are stims frequently recycled in PTs 1-40?

I did a question about Marianne the chess player for a Weaken drill and then the exact same stim shows up for a principle support question. I guess it’s good exercise for the brain to approach questions different ways!peege wrote:Yes!!! Yes, and topics are definitely overused as well i.e. healthy fat diet, cholesterol levels, risk of heart disease (Just the first one that comes to mind).AvatarMeelo wrote:Is it just me or are stims frequently recycled in PTs 1-40?

Finished all of the LR - Assumption Family components in the Trainer and MH LR today. Remembered so many little intricate things about LR and RC(when i re-read those chapters last week) that i had forgotten to keep in mind during my approach.
For those who have been prepping for a while, i definitely recommend revisiting fundamentals regardless (even strengths).. its helping me focus in on recognizing patterns and performing flawlessly !!!
@Littlewing- glad I talked to you about doing this! I felt like I was forgetting some core components to my approach and dropping my systems to "just answer the question"

It's good to take breaks to avoid burn out, so don't feel guilty at all! 1 or 2 full days a week is finekiklavan wrote:How often do you guys take day long breaks?

Is it possible to go from a 144 to a 165 in the next 3 weeks. I had a really bad test day in September but I am trying to see how possible it is to get to 165 in 3 weeks. I will try to study 25+ hours a week.

Maybe not a 165 but you can certainly do better than a 144. Logic games are the easiest to improve on, but I think are also the easiest section to psych yourself out on test day. Spend a lot of time practicing logic games, because even if you miss a few questions I'm sure your score will improve at least a few points. It takes a while to become comfortable making inferences. There are games where when I first started would take me 20 minutes, but now I fly through them. I'd also suggest purchasing the 10-week study schedule from lawschooli.com. They have some really good LR drills with the question types already organized, so after I did that it was so much easier to see my weaknesses. You can probably get through all of those drills in a week if you really put in the time.daniellenovel wrote:Is it possible to go from a 144 to a 165 in the next 3 weeks. Yea, this doesn't sound doable unless you were averaging in the high 150's/low 160's on your practice tests and just bombed on test day. That's a different story.

Yeah i did this yesterday. After being sick, I only took 1 last week but got a lot of review and new practice in so im just going to keep that up today and do some sections and then tomorrow take my PT on schedule. Im doing PTs Tues/Thurs/Sat just because Weds is a tough morning for me to get one in. And its evenly spread out lollittlewing67 wrote:Yes! Just little things with your approach. Hard to articulate. But for one, not comparing ACs against each other ever, now ive gotten really good with NA and the negation test (just making sure i do it the right way), sometimes in a tricky stim choosing an answer that refers to the right part of the argument. But ultimately, just reinforcing everything i already knew just because i have done it a ton it is truly becoming second nature. as far as patterns, just patterns with wrong answer choices and then in RC the various structures that are available, and looking at LR or RC passages from and overview where its all about strucutre and setup and not about just a question with information in front of me (if that makes sense)dietcoked wrote: What intricate little things are you referring to?

Got slaughtered by 72 this morning. It was so bad that about half way through the test I threw in the towel. Graded what I did finish hoping that my fears were unwarranted and yeah I did terribly.
