Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I love LG! Even though I'm not 100% on them yet. I had LG as my third section on Saturday's test and during break I was thinking "I would love to have another LG!" and then my fourth section was LGMEAhrnsbrak wrote:I need to start doing that as well! Also I need to remember to "warm up" before the test. Every time, regardless of what section I'm taking, my first section I tend to do worse than normal, but do well on the last three. My brain needs to stretch first apparently! Any suggestions on warmups before PTing and test day? I was thinking doing logic games might be good as I can do a hundred of them and never get bored with them (I know, inner nerd shining through right now! I love Logic Games lol!)

Hi Everyone!!!
Looks like you guys are super focused (thumps up) and organized.
I started studying for the Dec LSAT in June for two months (mostly LG) and then life happened (
). And i just restarted about a wk ago.
I signed myself up for TestMasters live course which starts in about 2 days just to get back on a studying routine. Online looking at reviews for that course and I came across this forum.
Do you guys think its too much to do classes AND study on my own? I know my weakness is LR. I just feel like its down to the wire to be anywhere near productive. Especially since I graduated college in 2009.
dont see how some ppl go in cold turkey.

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
My first legit LSAT practice test via Blueprint
PT 61 timed. Proctor didn't even give us a 15-25 second break in between sections. He just said "end section x, begin the next section" boom. Section breakdown was RC-LR-RC (exp)-LG-LR.
So I ended up getting a 151 which to many here is pretty mediocre...but I am coming from a 136 cold diagnostic back in July.
RC: 11/27
LR: 17/25
RC (exp): 17/27
LG: 17/23
LR: 13/26
Being my first legit proctored exam, I started to freak out a bit out during the first section, which caused me to lose focus on reading the passages. Surprisingly I did much better on the exp RC. Then I got mentally tired in the last section, which shows cuz I missed like 5 Q's in the first 15 Q's. lol.
Regardless, I think this is a great benchmark for me.
EDIT: Timing was sort of an issue. But nothing too bad.

Mine did the same thing! It was even faster pace than the pace of the real LSAT when I took it in June! But I figure if I can get used to that then it will make test day that much easier!nlee10 wrote:My first legit LSAT practice test via Blueprint

I agree that it's a great benchmark! Especially because you'll get used to the five-sectioned tests and will be less tired (and won't miss those questions at the end!) as time goes on.nlee10 wrote:My first legit LSAT practice test via Blueprint

Also, I was once told on TLS not to compare myself to others on here. Compare myself to me. Your 151 is a vast improvement from your 136. I have little doubt that you will go on improving!
So this just happened: this girl told me congratulations on LSATs being over for me. And I wrote "And thanks for the kind words! But it's definitely not over - I will be taking the LSAT yet again in December (Hoorah!)"
Yes... I did write "hoorah"

don't you hate when you do a 5 section n your exp is decently better than the real -_- but not bad ma, keep working n turn that into 171

I'm liking your LG score at this point in time. Keep it up!
Also, try a quick warmup before your PTs to get your mind going.
The real LSAT in its length of 5 sections (and then drawing pictures all over the writing sample) is very mentally taxing. Endurance is such a big part of being a successful tester.
I actually enjoyed the writing sample

haha thanks all! I wonder what my prepping would have been like without TLS. Although I spent wayyyyyy too much time lurking, I found a lot of valuable information. Glad to be in touch with other LSAT students as well.

Yes! I would say one aspect of any live prep course is being able to experience fully timed and proctored 5 section PT's. How big is your class going to be? Apparently, only 10 people signed up for my class. LOLMEAhrnsbrak wrote:Mine did the same thing! It was even faster pace than the pace of the real LSAT when I took it in June! I've done it once, was long... but not as long as the time I did 2 PT back to back (like 5 min break after 3rd section and 30min in between first n second PT)Dirigo wrote:I am not going to do it, but I know some people do it to really push their endurance so the real test seems relatively short.mist4bison wrote: Has anyone thought about doing 6 section tests? Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I used to do two PTs a day back in June. It was killer.
But now when I do a PT, I do sections 1-4 with no break without adding a fifth. I think it works fine. I wasn't tired during the test itself because the 15 minute break was the first time I ever had a break between sections
But who knows... maybe when I get my score and see that the last section was my worst, I won't be so convinced

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I was told to do this, but only built myself up to consistently five sections. Realistically, I did it because it was hard to find a long enough block in the morning (I always PTed in the morning) and because I always had a hard time picking extra sections.Dirigo wrote:I am not going to do it, but I know some people do it to really push their endurance so the real test seems relatively short.mist4bison wrote: Has anyone thought about doing 6 section tests? I just took September and LITERALLY only managed to get two hours of sleep due to general stress/anxiety. Even then, doing five sections + writing sample (which I never factored into a PT) gave me no endurance problem because of general endorphins. AKA, I wouldn't say its crucial, if you have the time go for it, but spending time reviewing each PT thoroughly will be time better spent. Good luck!

The materials I am using to study are:
LSAT Trainer (Completed over the summer)
PS Logical Reasoning- Kaplan Mastery for Logical Reasoning to drill
PS Logic Games- Cambridge Bundles to drill
Starting November, I am going to take PTs.
Not sure what to read for Reading Comprehension, either PS or Manhattan guide.

Great list so far! I feel like any RC guide is preferential. You could just get the Cambridge for RC as well and just drill.calmike wrote:The materials I am using to study are:
