Re: What #2 Pencil Should I use?
Does anyone know what brand the BP pencils are? They're awesome for games!
Testmasters pencils are good too - does anyone know what brand those are?
Thanks!

I'd gladly post photos but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do that here - any suggestions Dre?Dr. Dre wrote:Can someone please post a picture of their testmasters pencils? Please! I will not make fun of you.

To be fair, the Velocity pencils are actually pretty good, so it's not impossible that the Testmasters pencils are decent. Velocity's were a bit soft, but I liked them quite a bit for LG (not as much as my Palominos, but you know-not everyone's going to shell out for the Y of pencils). Velocity's are way too soft for the writing sample, though. I used the otherwise-terrible Black Warriors for that.

The Tombow 2558 is a great pencil, and it has an eraser. You might also try the Mitsubishi 9852 or 9850. Both have erasers and are of comparable quality to the Tombow 2558.PourMeTea wrote:Tombows don't have erasers

That's a great question! I don't ever think I've seen a pencil with lettering on the barrel that doesn't read upside down when held in the left hand.grungy89 wrote:any suggestions for left-handed pencils?

I couldn't find any, but you could use the cross over grip:grungy89 wrote:any suggestions for left-handed pencils?

I'd double check with LSAC though. Wouldn't want to bring something illegal into the testing room.

I would like to bump this thread because of it's usefulness and the close proximity to the December Administration of the LSAT.

Re: What #2 Pencil Should I use?
Really trying to figure out what pencil(s) I'm gonna use for the February test. I like the Black Ticonderogas for LR, but I prefer the feel of a softer lead when I'm doing the games, so I opt for my Palomino Blackwings.
Definitely need a better sharpener, though. This Staedler thing isn't cutting it (literally).

Are pencil grips allowed during the LSAT? If not could I get away with some black hockey tape on my black ticons? I haven't been practicing with grips but I feel like they could up my LR and LG game.

I'm not sure. I'd contact LSAC about that. Tape should be fine though.raindrop wrote:Are pencil grips allowed during the LSAT? If not could I get away with some black hockey tape on my black ticons? I haven't been practicing with grips but I feel like they could up my LR and LG game.

Eraser tops (the ones you can take off) aren't going to be allowed on the day of the lsat right?

Re: What #2 Pencil Should I use?
Quick question can I use #2 HB "Soft" I'm a little disappointed I order 2 packs of 12 from Amazon and they didn't say SOFT on the package or on the title but when they arrived they have SOFT in bold print on the pencils. Is this OK for the LSAT and will this affect in any way the darkness of the pencil parks on my scantron in a negative way?
Thx!

It will be ok. It would probably smear more easily (so watch our for that when you bubble) and the point retention will be less than ideal for a long test like the LSAT, but you don't have to worry about the scantron scanners not reading it.

Are there any new stories to share of pencil conquest during the LSAT?

Re: What #2 Pencil Should I use?
I saw so many Black Ticons at yesterday's test, I didn't know whether to grin or crap myself. I, of course, took my Staples #2 that I bought in a 100 count box when I was still in high school and worrying about the SAT. True story.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
