Did a lot of prep for last years June test, and scored a 168, around 5 points below my PT average.

I was pretty devasted. While it is a very good score, I knew it wasn't my best. I hit the books again in August and September, though not close to as hard as I had the first time around, and scored a 174, right at my PT average.

If your score isn't what you want, I encourage you to figure out why you didn't you as well as you wanted (yes, there is a reason) and attack that weakness. Best of luck everyone!!
same situation right here. went from avg 167/168 on PTs to scoring 164 in June. Took testmasters and studied hard

hit the books about a week after I got june back. Prac test 2-3 times a week, review slightly on day off.

173 on september go around - higher than most of my PTs

on my way to NYU this year

keep ya heads up forreal
Really needed to hear this. I am determined to reach my goal. Thanks again!
Also, if you don't mind me asking, what did you use to study/routine wise?
I recommend using the Trainer if you haven't already. I used it mainly because I was looking for new material and it gave me a new perspective which I really liked (I used the Manhattan books for the first round + PTs).

I would highly, highly retaking/studying the last ten or fifteen PTs. Even though I had already seen them, I feel as though I was able to much better understand and master them in the second go round.

Also- don't look at the answers/review the test you just took. Use it at the end of your studying to see if you actually learned anything round two... I scored a 173 on the test in practice that I had scored 168 on test day. That was a huge confidence booster and a nice fresh test as I didn't remember anything because I hadn't reviewed it. Hope this helps.

Bit late but I've been celebrating: ultimate lurker and will continue to be so, 173 via the London test. Originally, I was very happy with the way the test went and I'm even happier now that I know my initial reaction was correct!

Going to apply to my "safety" schools once apps open in September so I can hopefully get some options under my belt. Then I plan to retake in Oct. to see if I can improve my score. If I can improve enough, I may apply to other schools with my new score.

BUT…for my studying…(which I'm thinking could drastically be improved on) I could use some advice. I studied with the Bibles & took roughly 15 PTs before June…what did everyone else do?
7Sage mixed with LSAT Trainer and Manhattan Prep for RC supplement. My first PT was 161 and by the end I was averaging 178. Just stick with the program and it's an absolute godsend.
I loved 7sage as well. I just did the lowest level package, but you can upgrade at anytime too. I would say after the 7sage course, more prep tests. It took me 12-15 to get through my plateau then I immediately jumped by 7-8 points and stayed there for the next 10. It took me that long to really see all the patterns. It was always the same questions, the same flawed answers, just different words. I scored on the higher end of my range today, I'm very happy with the results.

That sounds pretty similar to my experience, what was your PT average again? Sorry since I think you posted that earlier. You may have just gotten the bad end of the variance stick :(

I'd definitely think about retaking, but you're also not in a bad spot to go ahead and apply this cycle, depending on your target schools, I'd think. Your targets really really matter here, though.
Pt average was a 172 but I lost my watch for a couple tests and those tests were significantly lower than the rest of my scores. Not saying that was the reason but I think they were outliers so without them the average was 174. Highest PT was 178 and lowest was 167. I really had my heart set on UCLA or Georgetown and with a 3.07 GPA and a 169 it just wouldn't happen...signed up to retake.
Thanks for all your help!

Good luck! You don't look too terrible as it stands now, and more on your retake will just make it better. Mylsn.info is your best friend )
Gratz to everyone who is happy with their scores, and sorry to all those who aren't. Just remember the LSAT, like law school exams, is silly in many ways, it says very little about you.

And, of course, remember the bolded above. Most important part of the app cycle.

Got a lower score (166) on the real thing than on ANY of my preptests for this take. Very upset. Oh well, guess I'm retaking in October.

I got a 166, which is good for me considering i started off with a 138 cold pt (im terrible at LR and almost braindead at RC, and really had to practice those.) RC is actually almost impossible for me and i didnt do to bad considering i had only 5 min for the last reading. LG's last game tripped me up. I was a -2 on LG which was unfortunate because i usually depended on that being -0. overall, i think the -10 curve was pretty fair considering the first three LG games and one of the LRs were cookie cutter

171. not really sure how to feel- this was right at my PT average but with my GPA (3.7) i pretty much don't stand a chance at the t-3 which is where i wanted to end up all along. it's high enough i'm not sure retaking is worth it but seriously uuuuughhhhhh.

Apologies for my earlier lurking-- y'all took that way serious though.

Scored a 170-- was PTing between 161-167, so this was a good surprise. I only got -2 on logic games, which has literally never happened to me.

Probably not gonna retake since I already did better than expected, and because I'm a teacher and fully intend on enjoying my Summer Break

Thanks for all the support, y'all!

Hey everyone,

I just got my scores back and I am absolutely disappointed - I scored 10 points under my average, and I even had a good feeling leaving the test center (I took it in Munich, so it's undisclosed, thus I cannot see my scantron). Does anyone have any insight into whether hand scoring would be a good idea for me - In the past I have not had any problems with bubbling, so the only thing could be that I missed a line and it threw everything off. Thoughts?

-3,-3,-1,-0 for a 173. Actually felt disappointed seeing the 173 in the email; I was expecting 175 to 180. Considering a retake, for just the chance of scoring higher.
