Decided to retake my diagnostic test that I took this past November, PT 38. Did two sections yesterday and two today + I probably remembered a lot of questions so I guess it's meaningless. Wanted to see though how much progress I made, if any. Have really been slacking off with studying the the last few months and gotta get back on track. Needed this to motivate me.
Diagnostic: 154
Today:
LR (-3) BR: (-2)
LG: (-2) BR: (-0)
RC: (-5) BR: (-2)
Timed: 172 Blind Review: 178
Happy with the blind review score, even though I saw the questions before. Timed score means nothing;I'd say I'm at a low 160's level right now had I taken a fresh test. LR was very easy, LG was pretty average, and I thought RC was really difficult. If the newer tests have harder/as hard RC I'm screwed. If anyone took this test before I'd really appreciate if you can tell me how you thought the RC was.
I'd be happy with anything above 168 on the real thing. Don't know why my username is 179orbust.

Officially checking in here. Aiming for a 180 in October, currently at the low-170s level and struggling with LG. This will be my first take and hopefully my only one.

Hey 179orBust,
If I may ask, what material did you use so far in terms of studying/drilling?
Thanks

Pretty light day today since today we are having my son's 1st birthday party. I did 5 grouping games, went -0 with good time and then read the Analyze Argument Structure Questions chapter of Manhattan LR. I think I'm going to do PT 55 next Saturday to gauge how effective my drilling has been for the past month or so. Happy studying folks!

I've used Manhattan LR, 7sage for games, and the LSAT Trainer. All three are extremely helpful.

When do you guys think is a good start to start taking Prep Tests if I'm aiming for October?
I have PTs 39-70....
I don't really want to use all of my material too early...

I'm just finishing up the full 7Sage curriculum and will be finishing their logic games bundle in a couple of weeks. I have PTs 36-74 and will be starting the week of 18 May and plan to do three a week for a month and a half, then two per week until August, only because my wife is due with our second child. After the birth I'm going to do one per week until the test so I don't burn out. I saved a lot of problem sets from 7Sage's curriculum for drilling in case I run into problems in a specific area. I also snagged a used copy of one of the 10 Actual PTs Booklets you can get on Amazon for about $5 so I'm going to use those for drilling whole LR and RC sections if necessary. I'd say you could do something similar if you have the resources. I just made a simple excel spreadsheet to schedule everything out for the next five months or so. With about 10 or so less tests than me you could probably do two per week until you reach a point where you only have one per week left and just do that to keep from burning out too much. Hope this helps!

Told you guys that I believed I was at low 160's level at this point in my studying. Todays PT confirmed that.
PT 54:
RC: -6, BR: (-4)
LR1:-4, BR: (-1)
LG: -5, BR: (-1)
LR2: -2, BR: (-2)
Timed: 164, Blind Review: 172
LR: Have only really drilled assumption questions so far so pretty happy with LR score overall. Got 48/51 in BR, so corrected some mistakes.
RC: Huge, huge problem. The comparative passage with drilling muds destroyed me. A lot of the questions were detail based, which I struggle with. And there's no excuse for a -4 when I BR.
LG: Also a problem. Have drilled LG a little bit but I just freeze when I see new games. Took the section timed again and got -1 but I don't know how useful that is.
Again, goal is to get above 168. This was considered a really easy test and so I don't know how indicative it is of my LSAT abilities. I know how difficult it is to improve from low 160's to high 160's and I just hope I'm able to make significant improvements by October.

Hey guys, I'm planning on studying for the October exam over the summer rigorously, as soon as my semester is over in the middle of May. I'm looking to form some kind of on-line study group that is looking to study religiously this summer. Maybe we can schedule to take PT's together and go over them together or something, talk about specific chapters from LSAT prep books, keep each other motivated, build some LSAT prep solidarity, etc.
Anyone dedicating their summer as well to LSAT prep looking to form a group? I think it would make the summer more enjoyable if we can go through studying the LSAT as a group. Maybe I'll post a thread following up on this later if I get enough, or not enough, responses. Let me know!

Present.
I'm new to the forum. Took the LSAT several years ago (like 2007) without prepping and scored 135. I'm just now deciding that I want to go ahead and pursue that law degree since I kind of have a job secured once I pass the bar. Definitely prepping and hope to score at least 153 on my "real" first try but of course, the higher the better.

Cool! I'll look into finding a chatroom somewhere so we can start this group soon, I just need to finish this semester strong before I can sell my soul to the LSAT. I'll post a threat soon, though
If anyone else is interested, let me know!

Checking in, started this week with the LSAT Trainer, D.I.Y. schedule. I will also be using the Manhattan Books and LG Bible when needed, and PTs 7-28, 39-45, 52-74 and Superprep (52).
This will be my third take, got a 164 both times before but was PTing much higher, need to take as many PT as possible before October. I only took 5 the first and 10 the second with 2 months of studying.
Already took my first un-timed diagnostic, went over by 8 mins on RC and under by 3 on all other sections, 168.

Checking in. New to TLS. Doing first (and hopefully only) take in October.
Have been taking my PT's under strictly timed conditions. Worst section is, by a long shot, Logic Games.
Goal (T14 or bust, homies): 170+
