Last PT was 166 mostly due to totally bombing LG. I'm thinking about just obsessively studying/drilling LG for the next few weeks and seeing where it gets me.

You're moving your timeline up quite a bit! I'm thinking maybe February if I can get 165 by EOY.

It's just frustrating that I feel like I need remedial LG practice. Right now I'm afraid to take another PT because I assume that even if I do well on the other sections, LG will drag my score down to something disheartening.

I don't know man, our idea of bombing is probably a little different. A couple things that have helped me is trying to visualize the game with all the inferences just working off a basic set-up. I am having a little success doing it for games I've already completed. It's probably something specific to the game(s) that are giving you trouble and not some mysterious brain fog. lol scared to take a PT. Old used and abused pt's are just waiting to get used some more.

I'm trying to balance making sure I'm confident in my score with not burning out.
I'm also retaking after a disappointing September test. I'd originally planned to do it in December but decided I'd probably do better with long-term/small burst studying because cramming wasn't working out well for me. Also worried about the burnout factor but at least there's plenty of time to step away from the material if you need to.

This might not be helpful for you, but this is my basic plan: to work intensely for a short time and then take a few days off to process the information. I'm starting again in January (just bought the LSAT Trainer so I can reevaluate my strategies). Planning on studying for a few hours/days each week (with the bibles and drill packets). Then I'm going to ramp it up in March and start hitting PTs again (only really frequently in mid-April, though). That probably wouldn't work for a lot of people but I realized that I need a lot of breaks because I process things slowly (I might be an idiot).

Checking in!

Just took my diagnostic and got a 159, with -11 on the Logic Games, so I guess I've got a lot of those in my future.

I'll be going to class and doing a lot of other things this Spring, so I'm hoping to study at night and during off time. Here's hoping!

Haha I thought you might jump over to this thread.

My weakness is also LG (last PT I went -14!). I'm thinking about drilling the old, insanely difficult sections from PTs 1-10 over the next couple weeks while using the LG Bible as a guide and seeing what happens. Right now it seems like LG is the only thing standing between me and 170.

haha, don't worry about LG guys. It is a very manageable section to improve upon!

If you had to study LG a lot, what was your strategy? Idk if I want to drill by type or by section... type would probably be better, but I already have everything printed and assembled into PTs.

Cambridge sells a LG bundle that uses LG from PT 1-38 and breaks them down by game type.

http://www.cambridgelsat.com/bundles/lo ... s-by-type/

Because Cambridge uses PT1-38 for their packets, people usually save PT 1-38 material for drilling and post PT39- for section drilling or full PT's.

Haha, guess we're in the same boat!

I'm just hoping I don't burn out before June. I also need to get that day off from my employer.

Thanks guys. I might just have to take it slow with the Bible like you said. I'd love to jump into tests and just "get it" like I do for the other sections, but I might need to start with the basics and crawl before I run.

I already have PTs in pdf so I'm not interested in Cambridge packets (I can make my own packets based on online lists of games by type); I just wondered how useful type drilling is compared to just doing sections and dealing with whatever LSAC throws at you.

Are you guys prepping from now to June? If so, how do you pace yourself and set intermediate goals?

I've been trying to study but I have crippling procrastination problems. Once I finally force myself to hit the books, my plan is to intensively study LG, repeatedly drilling games from PTs 1-20 until I can get -2 or better. Then I'll switch back to full PTs.

Logic games suck. I'm convinced that LG is supposed to be a test of work ethic and determination rather than intelligence.

Dang it! I had signed up for the December LSAT a while back but there was no way i was going to take, so I was planning on changing the test date to June rather than paying full price for another test. Turns out that I missed the deadline. Just flushed all that money down the drain.

In other news, we have about 6 months till the LSAT. Yikes!

Finally did anyone have their study routine screwed up due to the holiday break. I was planning on using my time to study at the library but all the ones close to me were only opened for a few hours; that made for a great excuse to not study. Back at it today, trying to stay focused!

I just read a few of those "How I got a 180 Guides" and to be honest they sort of scared the crap out of me. The amount of work and meticulous routine put into it...

On a similar note, I've decided on a goal-- a 172. That's where I want to be, and I will retake any score under it.

Now I need to get a study partner to keep me motivated.
