bailed on feb lsat and rescheduled for oct, oh well around $400 down the drain for setting up a non published test center but I have been out and about lately with no time to study.

Not really. If you plan on taking most of the recent tests as PT's then the more recent bibles will ruin some games for you (aka you'll see them before you take the PT's). I don't think anything about their strategy has changed that much. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I'm using the games bible right now and it seems to help. It's an older version too. I also just ordered the workbook for that and the LR. Here's to hoping those drills beat me up enough

Just did a timed LG section and got through all 4 games with -2. I know this isn't a huge deal for some of you guys but it is for me. Looks like SOME of my work has paid off. So happy right now.

It was PT 45. I know the 40's have easier games so I'm taking it with a grain of salt but I'm still very happyyyy.

Yeah, I usually don't make it through all 4 games so it was pretty amazing for me. I did another section and got -0. Crossing my fingers for these not to be an anomaly.

Did anyone else experience a large drop in score when going from some of the earlier PTs (like 38) to some of the later ones (like 52)?

I've been scoring between 168 and 173, but I did PT 52 today and it kicked my butt. After the first two sections alone, I was -13 for a 167. (I'm working now, or else I'd finish and give a final score.)

Is that normal? I actually ran out of time on LG and had to guess on two questions (in addition to missing more than I've ever missed on previous tests), which has never happened to me before, and LR kicked my butt even though I finished the section thinking I'd miss 3 at the most (I missed 7). It feels sneakier than the earlier tests and I can't quite figure out why.

Have any of you experienced this yet? My score will go back up, right? Here I was thinking that I was going to kick the LSAT's ass and get the 170 I need without too many problems, and now I'm kind of worried about it.

I haven't personally experienced this but I've heard it from a lot of people. Many people experience drops in their score when going from the earlier tests to the ones in the 50's. LR changed because they started asking more of certain questions and less of others (I can't remember which types at the moment but I'll try to look it up for you). Games get kind of tricky again (after the easy 40's) and RC gets a bit more difficult also, I believe.

ETA: Yes, your score will go back up. You still have a whole month left!

The deadline is coming up fast, so I decided to take a full PT today to see where I stand. Took PT 42 and went -0 LG, -2 LR1, -3 RC, -1 LR2. 95 raw, 175 scaled. This is about the cutoff I had set to determine whether or not I'd retake, so I just registered and am now officially in.

I'm glad I'm acing games again, but the 40s are rumored to be easy. Somewhat concerned about the RC, but hopefully it will come back to me before test day.

For the posters above wondering about whether a drop is normal when going from the 30s to the 50s, it happened to me. When I first got to the 50s, the LR started kicking my ass (-6 overall compared to a usual -3), and RC became my worst section. I think it was just being unused to the comparative reading, because as I took a few, I ended up getting back to -1s and -0s. I guess what I'm trying to say is that yes, it's harder, but it's the same basic stuff and you get used to it after awhile.

Only taking two PTs before this test, the October 2010 PT and December 2010 PT. Just took October 2010 PT today and scored a 161. Did well on all sections besides RC, on which I got a -13. RC sucks! I am going to start reading more and doing back to back to back RC sections before I do the Dec 2010 PT. I am shooting for 165 or higher on Feb test. I just need to improve RC and I can hit that score. Won't post here till I take Dec 2010 PT. Good luck to all.

Why are you only taking 2 PT's?

I have exhausted all other LSAT material in preparation for the previous tests I took. I have already taken the LSAT 3 times. This will be my 4th time and I feel as ready as I will ever be. No point in taking tests I have already seen 3 times before. Oct and Dec are only tests I have not seen.

not necessarily true. After a month or two, you are likely to forget the questions. I'm in similar shoes, and drilling certain skills is mandatory as a practice method, regardless of how many times you've done a particular PT.

Hm, I would take PT's that I had seen before just for the practice and to maintain the rhythm of taking the tests. I'm retaking and I'm going to take a lot of the 50's PT's over again. I think it will still be beneficial because I was scoring in the 150's and low 160's when I took them. If I'm still scoring that low there is still more to learn and more to practice. (This is just my personal opinion and I realize you didn't ask for my advice!)

PT46 was a 164 so I was feeling okay about it, but that 156 a week ago sent me into a weeklong depression, given that I've been at this thing for 4 months.

Well take it from someone who is NOT good at the LSAT (155 in October). It does get better but it takes a lot of repetition and time to finally get things to click.

From weakest to strongest, Reading comp>>LR>>LG. I'm trying to read IHT and The Economist to increase my reading speed but it's not working. Oh well, maybe it'll have some effect on the GMAT.

I know it's hard to improve RC, but LR is definitely something that you can improve on. It's the one that benefits the most from practice practice practice IMO. But good luck with whatever you decide to do! <3

Last night I dreamed that I was getting my score February back. I opened the envelope (everyone was mailed their score, for some reason) and saw that I'd gotten a 180. I was ecstatic, but then Anne Hathaway pushed me in a pool and I woke up.
