according to the LSAT predictor the minimum with your GPA and URM-ness is a 165 for a STRONG CONSIDER and a 167 for an ADMIT.

From experiences of a few people I know, a "strong consider" is basically an 'admit' if you don't screw it up with a horrible personal statement, or your great freshman and sophmore years are offset by God-awful junior and senior years.
I think catharsis is correct in that you need a 165. You'd probably want at least that much anyway if you'd like a shot of getting any money too. Good luck!!

Re: chances at Fordham Law School?
Hi guys, I posted in his other thread, and y'all are overestimating the score he needs. (I can't believe I just said y'all. I fail at being a Southerner.)
OP: The 165-167 thing is for non-URMs, provided a GPA of >3.6 or so. It seems that every 162 URM on LSN was admitted this year, and there were a smattering of people who got in with much lower scores. To be extra safe, given your GPA, 163+, though I think a 161-162 will not go amiss if you apply early.
I adore YCRev and his predictor, but I sometimes think it overshoots for URM numbers. A 165 is a solid, ironclad guarantee for a URM with a decent GPA. 165/3.24 URM is probably scholarship territory.

Re: chances at Fordham Law School?
the two threads is confusing.... damn. Oh well....
I think 164 would be a good number, anything above is scholarship territory I think, anything below, down to about 161, I still like your chances, but no guarantees.

Next cycle is going to be even worse than this year, so aim for 166+ and do whatever it takes to get over the 166 hump.

I agree, but if you really, really want to go to Fordham and don't get a 165+ most likely you'll get in if you can settle for the part-time program, which is top 3 in the country. You can matriculate to the FT program from there so I hate to sound TOO optimistic, but you're likely a shoe-in if you want it that bad. My only hope is that I'll be joining you and Opera Soprano in 2010.Action Jackson wrote:Next cycle is going to be even worse than this year, so aim for 166+ and do whatever it takes to get over the 166 hump.

I got in PT with a 161/3.3. Non-URM. Try to be ready for the September test, as Fordham admissions get harder and crazier as the cycle wears on. You don't want to be in the Dec/Jan pile.

Whaaaaaaa?!?!?! WOOOOOOOW. Hmmmm. . . I have a 3.1. Non-URM. Not that WE makes THAT much of a difference (because it doesn't), but my resumé is fairly impressive and I hope might help to show my work ethic since leaving undergrad. I also have some potentially killer LORs too. Will a 165 be good enough if I apply as soon as I get results for the September test???? Hope to see you on the UWS!hoffb86 wrote:I didn't with 161/3.6.... APPLY EARLY!nitsudrx wrote:I got in PT with a 161/3.3. Non-URM. Re: chances at Fordham Law School?
I had a job offer in NYC from a firm that Fordham wants to keep attending their OCI, they knew this, and I still didn't get in..... (I was WL, crazy story, PM me if u really want to know). I work for a top law firm in DC (same firm that offered me the job in NYC) and my 161 was not enough.... you will need around 165 i think... median will prolly be a 164 for PT, and you need to compensate for the GPA.... good luck!picardb2 wrote:Whaaaaaaa?!?!?! Re: chances at Fordham Law School?
OP,
you edited your post so I don't know your numbers buuuut my numbers are in my profile and I am urm-mexican-....I think I wrote a killer personal statement too and got in Full Time. I even applied "late" by most standards (early January).
I know I don't have the greatest stats but I think Fordham does look more at the whole person than other schools (BC and GW come to mind as they rejected me outright, or maybe I pissed em off lol).
