I am in the process of applying to law school for 2017. I have an expunged drug possession charge from years ago that I plan to fully and honestly disclose on applications. My question is this: will my old expunged charge make it impossible for me to participate in clinics with Prosecutors or Public Defenders or to do any type of internship in a court during law school? Are there significant state to state variations on the policies?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Intern/Clinic in Court with Expunged Drug Charge?
I know someone with an expunged drug-related charge as well. To help my friend I've done a little reading about it and have questioned whether he should put this on a LS application. He ended up doing so because he had multiple years of clean living between the present and the charge, but some LS apps don't specifically ask you to put expunged charges. The main reason my friend put the charge on applications was because he would have to disclose it for the Bar, and the charge itself shouldn't have much impact on the C&F section of the Bar, yet lying about it could definitely have a negative impact.burgertime wrote:I am in the process of applying to law school for 2017. But to answer your question, no I don't think it would make it impossible for you to participate in these clinics. Someone else may be able to more properly answer your question but no one had replied yet so thought I would share some of my friend's experience.
