Re: Just received my grades...
We can't figure out your rank in the abstract--it's highly school dependent. If you're desperate to estimate your unofficial rank, talk to 2Ls and 3Ls about where a 3.86 likely puts you.
As for your resume, just list your GPA.

Depends on your current school's job placement rates, what you want to do, where you want to go, and a bunch of other factors.

Re: Just received my grades...
Maybe you searched for it already but try digging around on your school website - my school publishes the gpa range for each percentile that people usually think of (every 10 percents plus top 3rd, top 2.5%, top 5%, etc.) from past years classes so you can get a pretty good idea of where you fall.
This was never advertised to us or publicized in any way, but my school still updates it every year. At a school in the range you described that GPA has to be in the top 10% and almost certainly puts you in the top 5% if not higher.

Browsing the transfer forum would answer these questionsTheLaw2015 wrote:Also, do softs matter at all when transferring? I made it to the finals of my schools intramural mock trial competition (against 1ls, 2ls and 3ls) and then made the actual team for the Spring semester, so Ill be competing interscholastically as a 1l. I also made it to the semifinals of our Dispute Resolution Society intramural competition and was ranked 6th at the end of it all. Does that stuff help? Have some legal work experience, too.

Re: Just received my grades...
First, you don't have spring semester grades yet, so the only schools you can really consider transferring to at this point are GULC EA and Chicago ED. From what I understand, Chicago didn't take a single TTT transfer last year, so I'd assume they're out by default. You'd probably get into Georgetown EA, though.TheLaw2015 wrote:What are my chances at transferring? Should I even consider it? Do I still have to kick ass next semester also to have any chance? Im at a TTT (I think, its ranked between 100-150). I also have a full-ride. Is it even worth transferring?
Depending on your school, you may still be in the running for biglaw despite TTT status. No matter what school you're at, you're in top 10%, and my guess is you're somewhere between top 5% and top of the class. If you don't want biglaw, staying where you're at is an easy choice.
