Law School Resources?

Post by CardinalAmbition » Wed Jul 22, 2015 9:59 am

I was wondering if Law Schools have a similar employment resources to an undergrad institution? By this, I mean, are their career fairs (or similar events) and career centers that offer advising, workshops, resume critiques ect. If not, what do they offer for job placement. Thank you in advance

Law schools have an independent career services office that is there to assist finding student's work, and offer in one manner or another all the things you listed and more. We even have our own sort of career fair called on campus interviews, which there is an entire topic on this board for you to learn more about.

Some law schools do have a career services department that can put you in touch with firms or practitioner’s not only for internship experience but employment after the bar exam. There are even opportunities to meet with alumni during mixers and see if they have openings or if they know of other firms looking to hire law students upon graduation.

I hope this helps!

According to analysis from the Wall Street Journal, only 55% of class of 2011 law school grads were employed full-time as lawyers nine months after graduation.

Yes, all of the above. Practice interviews, resume workshops, networking events, you name it. And yeah, on-campus interviews, where you go to a hotel filled with cookies and toys to get your first job.
