Link them the various articles across the internet on the current job aspects and mention you ran across them. Or perhaps send them to LST.

Say "congrats on law school" and Don't do anything

You're gonna come across as a self righteous asshole

It's not your life; mind your own business

Remember the general rule: don't give advice unless people ask

(If they ask, direct em to LST and don't preach at them)

Unless it's like your lifelong best friend, then don't do anything. Not worth it.

Yeah, I'd link them to LST and not say anything beyond that.

http://www.lstscorereports.com/state/FL/

If they can't parse that and make an intelligent decision, they weren't going to score better on the LSAT anyways.

Isn't it a bit late since school starts in the next couple weeks? Hard to talk someone out of it at this point unless you are super close (which I assume you aren't since you would have done so earlier). For shits I would reccomend they read through areyouinsane's post history, if only for the humour.

I guess there's nothing more I can do,since it's neither my life nor money, but it's sad. It's really sad.
It's 2014... this isn't 2009, it's not some big secret that going to law school is maybe not such an awesome idea. Assuming they don't have their heads under rocks they can probably justify it to themselves with

A) I don't want to be one of those big "fancy" lawyers anyways
B) I'm going to study really hard and be top 10 %.
C) The Economy is improving, in three years, I'm sure things will be looking way better for new lawyers.
D) I can find an example of a successful lawyer from the law school I'm attending. Not everyone needs to attend Harvard or Yale to be successful.

Gotta just let people make their own decisions and wish them luck.

unless it's your lifelong best friend, no one will listen to your take on their major life decisions anyway, so the whole thing's pretty much moot

You gotta talk the parents out of it. They're the ones pushing the kids. The only time I talked someone out of law school was when the kid's brother got me in touch with the parents.

Otherwise yeah there's nothing you can do. Wish em the best of luck.

If Law School Transparency won't dissuade someone, they're hopeless.

It's pretty much too late at this point, anyway.

This is probably a good idea.

Also, I wouldn't care so much if people hate you, OP. Tell them what they need to hear right now, and they might get mad, but they'll appreciate you down the road. I mean, sometimes it's counter-productive being a jerk, and people will just tune you out, but you can strike some balance between being forthright and respectfully persuasive.

Link people to not just here, but to JDU. Tell them to get an account and start a thread on there and ask actual graduates of those schools whether they thought it was a good idea to attend their TTTTTTTTT.

+1

Maybe bring it up while you and your friends are 6 beers deep, so you can play the "I'm sort of joking but I'm actually serious" part. I think convincing them to make a JDU thread is an awesome idea. But as other posters have already said, it might be impossible to convince your buddies they're making a big mistake.
