Depending on how serious your arrests are, it's worth talking to a C&F attorney to make sure you won't be ineligible for the bar in the state where you want to practice.

Someone got into Penn with a substantial C&F and as a super splitter, but that person applied ED. Decide for yourself if that counts as T6 (I think it does)

That joke isn't plausible for you since you're in FL, where looking at a cop the wrong way is minimum 10 years.heavoldgotjuice wrote:I did 5 years for armed robbery and aggravated battery on leo ... nbd

anecdotally, i know a few ppl with arrest records who got ccn
idk how much difference it makes if you have solid numbers
assuming the offenses are minor
they had distance from the offenses fwiw
consult attorney specializing in disciplinary defense
write a strong, contrite c&f statement

Re: Getting into T6 with arrest record
Since OP disappeared this is more for anyone else who stumbles upon this by researching the question. I got into NYU and waitlisted at Columbia and Chicago, moreso most likely from applying so late (late January/early Feb) than my arrest. I was arrested the summer before my sophomore year of undergrad for MIP, Fake ID, and Obstruction of Justice. I didn't write some exceptional essay about it either, just stated the facts clearly and didn't make any bones about it. I applied with a 170 LSAT and 3.71 GPA if that helps at all. My personal statement also wasn't anything exceptional and I don't have incredible softs. So yes, it is possible, but it certainly depends on how serious the arrest was. I'm pretty sure no school cares that much if it is something like mine with underage drinking.

BravesCounty, I have a similar situation to yours. My GPA is in the 3.8ish range. I'm heavily involved at my UG and have a few exec board positions, as well as some internships under my belt. I Haven't taken the LSAT yet though. Anyway, I got cited for underage drinking in the summer before sophomore year as well, and I was concerned about how it would affect my chances at Columbia or NYU. The citation has now been expunged due to a summary diversion program. I'm going to disclose no matter what. I disclosed for my internship this summer and no one cared, but in Big Law hiring, will AmLaw 100 firms be more concerned about that one offense?

First make sure you can take the BAR. I read about an individual who was convicted of sexual abuse on a minor. He was accepted to law school and graduated but could not take the BAR and was fighting it.

Re: Getting into T6 with arrest record
Random question: Is it common for law students (esp. T14) to have arrest records? I see a lot of these posts and it just makes me wonder.

Why would you go to law school after this? Isn't that an auto-fail on character & fitness?heavoldgotjuice wrote:I did 5 years for armed robbery and aggravated battery on leo ... nbd
