Hi friends,o
I am currently a Corporate Development Financial Analyst of a at a Fortune 50 tech company (work in the mergers and acquisitions arm of the corporation) and I am planning apply to law school but don't know if I should choose that route. By doing law school I am hoping to get into Bankruptcy/Restructuring Law or M&A law with my background. A few of my undergrad b-school friends have been encouraging me to get my MBA though so I am also considering that. If I pursue the MBA route I would probably want to get into Restructuring Investment banking maybe, don't know for sure.
As far as stats go I went to a "public ivy" for what its worth and graduated with a 3.4. I took the LSAT last december and scored a 172 and took the GMAT early this year and scored a 740. With this info do you think its worth pursuing law school at all?
I would appreciate any of your guys' feedback, suggestions, guidance.
Thank you

Re: Corporate M&A Analyst to MBA or Law School
With your stats, here are the options;
For law school, HYS are out, but Columbia, Chicago and Penn are in play. I think a retake is in order for some money at those schools and other T14.
For MBA, I think besides Stanford and Harvard, you have a good shot at the rest, Penn is a toss up. Check out Poets and Quants on this.
