Re: Does a Full Ride include Dorms???

I want to know if a full ride covers dorm expenses.
If not, then I have no chance of going out of city, for I do not want debt (of course).
Thanks.
Very few law schools have dorms, since they are grad schools.
However, most awarded full rides DO NOT include housing. However, some do include a large living stipend that cover rent. It's safe to assume that if you see "Full Ride" it only means tuition and (maybe) fees, and you are on your own for books, food, and rent.

Adults shouldn't live in dorms or with parents.
Taking out loans for COL is very reasonable when school is free.

I'm not aware of any schools that give free dorms as a form of scholarship. Most schools award "stipends" to tip top candidates but as far as I'm aware it's usually for only 7,500, so not enough to save you from needing COL loans.

Ugh. Couldn't imagine sharing a residential space with my family for more than a week. That's about how long our vacations can last, and I aim to never visit home for longer with all of them present. Living with your parents full time? Jesus christ, I know it's an affliction for up to 1/3 of college grads by necessity, but by choice.. can't imagine.Desert Fox wrote:Living for free with parents is probably a good idea idea.Nova wrote:Adults shouldn't live in dorms or with parents.

Moreover: doesn't the Rubenstein afford a living stipend to cover an apartment?

Yes. All full scholarships include dorm housing, miniature soap bars, and coupons to the local Golden Buffet.

Uh, forcing? It costs money to live in an apartment like an adult. If it's imperative to have 0 debt, ok.jaylawyer09 wrote: Wow... looks like one cant really escape paying alot of money, in turn forcing one to stay home with the parents..
Also, dude. Enough with the "one". This ain't hypothetical. I think you mean you.

One might characterize it as the full-tuition + $15k/year scholarship at the U of Chicago. One would be very happy to receive it, should one be lucky enough to have received the LSAT score and obtained the undergrad GPA necessary for one to be considered for such award.jaylawyer09 wrote:What is the Rubenstein?james.bungles wrote:jbagelboy wrote:Moreover: doesn't the Rubenstein afford a living stipend to cover an apartment?

It's probably the single best law school admissions outcome there is, other than a massive aid grant at Yale.elterrible78 wrote:One might characterize it as the full-tuition + $15k/year scholarship at the U of Chicago. I kind of wish I had went to LS right out of UG simply because its so hard to justify living with parents in my higher 20s. Back then it would have been much more acceptable.

Here is a pretty comprehensive list for the T14s: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5&t=144338Hopefully, there is a similar (scholarship + stipend) deal in other schools as well. I'll have to so some research.
Most require having a combined LSAT/GPA above the 75 percentile. They are meant to lure you away from HYS, and the RUBY is unique in that it offers a 15k a year stipdent. Most stop at full tuition (160-180K)

Houston? While IDK for sure, it is doubtful. They boast their low tuition to try to get you to attend.jaylawyer09 wrote:Does anyone know if U of H gives out nice stipends also?
