Law Schools Hiring their Own Grads %'s - 2012

Part-time fellowships for recent grads spiked last year as law schools sought to help bridge the gap between graduation and employment. Deans say it is a way to help grads and not an effort to game the system.

Law schools that employ the greatest percentage of their classes:
1.Notre Dame: 22.6%
2.Boston University: 22.0%
3.UCLA: 18.6%
4.Virginia: 17.0%
5.Phoenix: 16.8%
6.Vanderbilt: 15.7%
7.George Washington: 15.6%
8.McGeorge: 15.2%
9.Golden Gate: 14.1%
10.Florida Coastal: 13.7%
11.New Hampshire: 13.6%
12.Fordham: 13.3%
13.Georgetown: 13.0%
14.Cornell: 12.9%
15.CUNY: 12.6%
16.Chicago: 12.3%
17.NYU: 12.2%
18.Yale: 12.2%
19.Emory: 11.6%
20.Case Western: 11.4%
21.Miami: 11.4%

I don't think you can assume that. These are part time. If this was a real fellowship, it wouldn't be part time.

I dunno... a lot of people go to YLS to go into academia. And YLS is a great place to work in academia...

There's some commentary in this thread about 30k/yr fellowships. Not a lot, but I think it still comes out better than $10/hr.

Hmm, not too far away from fast food/retail salary ($8.50/hour). That sucks for a Yale Law School graduate. I almost made that in my summer retail job.

Also, if I recall from what someone posted in the UVA 2016 thread, UVA only hired 30 grads from class of 2012, (which I think would be ~10%), so those numbers are likely from 2011, aka the worst year for legal employment ever.
