Under what conditions would dropping out of law school be a good strategic move (can you be specific and also provide the rationale)?
Thought this might be an interesting question to get discussion going on.

Re: What Grades or Circumstances Warrant LS Drop-Out Scenario?
Normally you ask this question when you're already in law school and preparing to drop out.
And it depends on a lot of factors. How are you financing law school? If you have a full ride and a COL stipend, then it makes more sense to stay. If your parents are rich and are paying for it, it might make sense to stay (although maybe they'd pay for a graduate program more likely to get you a job). What school do you go to? What grades do you need at that school to achieve gainful employment? Have you identified and clearly learned from your first semester mistakes? How much could you bring your gpa up before OCI? Do you have an F or a D or some ugly grade that would mar your transcript? What are your career goals?
Honestly, the question is worse than useless if you can't answer all of these questions. No specifics can be given unless you're willing to give specifics about your scenario. If you're truly interested on when dropping out is a good idea, just use the TLS search function for drop out and you'll see the advice others got on their various situations. That should be illuminating.

honestly this is a purely personal question. You could set a gpa cut off, and if you fall below that, then drop. Or a find a summer position by date X deadline, and then drop. Or you could decide that you dont like it, then drop, or whatever. Id say that once you are 3 semesters in- might as well finish and focus on getting a job post graduation that will help pay the bills.
But all of this revolves around how much debt you have. If you go to law school with 70K worth of debt, then obviously things change. If you have no debt, and law school isnt that expensive then that will also impact your decision making process.
