I have had a great deal of medical problems and although my gpa is alright, my LSAT is great, I am upset about the W's which I will address in addendum. Is there at least one other person on here that have had that many from a reason beyond your control and did you get denied everywhere?

I think if you do a forum search there is a post about someone who overcame cancer. From what I understand, legitimate W's are treated differently.

well GPA wise unless they are punitive they won't hurt you and if you a legitimate medical reason the large amount will probably won't either. Another thing you could try is seeing Your school's registar office will remove those from your record. I've heard of it being done in the past.

I don't think my Ws had a negative impact on my cycle at all.

I had something like 15 Ws and 4-5 Fs. No reason other than I was a real slacker. I also had a sub-160 LSAT. The highest ranked school I got into was in the 60s with $12k per year. Could have been worse. In the first semester of 1L I ranked in the top 10% and am now trying to transfer if spring grades are as good or better.

tl; dr - can't change the past, just move forward and try your best.

Don't follow advice based on getting in the top 10%. What this poster did would end poorly for the majority of people.

Also, I think the relevant inquiry is not "will the W's hurt you?" but "have you resolved the underlying issue?" And if you had a serious medical issue that you overcame (see the post about cancer) I think that would only help you, especially if you're not shy about spinning it.

To be fair, I did not advise to go to law school and hope to land out on top. What I said is that you can't change the past. Undergrad grades are what they are. Explain the hell out of it in an addendum, then move on; that's all you can do. OP's question was whether he/she would get denied everywhere. I pointed out that I was not denied everywhere, and in fact had a good result despite having an embarrassing college transcript. Assuming he/she gets in somewhere the decision to take the gamble and hope to come out on top is up to him/her. In fact, I agree with you, the odds are shit. But there's nothing to do about past grades now. They are what they are, so explain it and move on.
