Can I submit an updated statement?

Post by GW1010 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 2:41 pm

Quick question - If I'm not thrilled with the diversity statement I sent with my applications, can I send the AdComms an updated one? Or is making changes to your application after you send it in considered faux pas?

Wouldn't it look bad though? I really didn't know what I was doing with my diversity statement the first time, and after seeing the samples on this site I definitely messed it up. I spoke a bit about how I'm a URM but I didn't make it personal enough. Not sure what I should do... :/

No. And in any event, it's still worth it to have them reading your preferred version of your essay.
