Best schools for AZ BigLaw?

Post by ricekrispies » Wed Jan 09, 2013 8:44 pm

What would be the best schools if the goal is to get into Phoenix BigLaw? T14 is the obvious response but I am wondering if law firms in Phoenix prefer certain schools (Berkeley maybe?) in the T14 as opposed to others. How does an in-state school like ASU rate for this even though it is 26th?

Out of 201 ASU law grads in 2011, 10 of them went to law firms of at least 100 attorneys. 3 more went to Federal clerkships. So to the extent Phoenix biglaw exists, ASU ain't the answer. The truth is that there are very very few BigLaw jobs in AZ, so if you want BigLaw go to the best school you can and gun for Phoenix while being prepared to end up somewhere else.

To see if any particular T-14 gets its grads back to AZ a tiny bit better, search through firm profiles.
