What are the advantages of HYS over other T-14? Forum

I'm a 0L, starting at HLS in the fall, but I'm wondering why people would choose HYS over lower T14s if they could get significant money at the lower schools. I'm already aware of answers pertaining to academia, clerking, PI, but I'm even wondering about this relating to BigLaw. If a number of people get BigLaw out of places like Northwestern, Penn, NYU (I even read today about a guy who had a 3.8/164 and got BigLaw from a Top 30 school), then what's the advantage of going to HYS besides a better chance at BigLaw, especially considering the financial ramifications of 200k+ debt compared to a full ride at a lower T14?

I personally have chosen HLS, because my long-term goal is to work in human rights. In the short term, I plan to pursue BigLaw because I have no money and can't afford to take a government job out of school - I need to get on my feet financially first. But when I see that people are getting the same BigLaw jobs out of other T14s, I wonder if I should be attending one of those instead with a lot less of a financial burden, as I'm extremely debt averse. I'm sure that going to a place like Penn, Columbia, or Chicago would not close doors to me in the future anyways.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

There is no question in my mind that a full ride scholarship at CCN at the least, potentially Berkeley and Penn too, is a better deal than Harvard.

A 60/40 shot at Biglaw with no/almost no debt > A 90/10 shot at Biglaw with 200k of debt.
