Best Laptop for Law School

Post by cjcregg » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:21 am

I need helping picking a laptop for law school. I love my Macbook and would be sorry to trade it in for a PC, but I've heard Microsoft OneNote is awesome. I do mainly basic stuff on the computer: internet browsing, word processing. Still, I'd like my computer to be able to handle the serious stuff on the occasions I choose to do it.

What's important to me:
Speed
Durability
Lifespan of the computer
Battery life
Having enough hard drive space

What's not that important to me:
Optical drive
Weight of Mb pro vs. air

Search. For the love of God, search. There are probably half a dozen active topics on this right now.

Macs are way better than PCs and anyone who says differently is just a poor PC fanboy

Take this advice, and get a SSD so that it boots up faster and can minimize the amount of time it takes to get to the TLS search page.

I'd like to thank those who graciously spare a bit of their busy lives to police TLS. I'm sure "God" appreciates that you do his work.

I have seen the other threads (at least those made in recent months). Despite reading those threads, I decided to pose a targeted question dealing w/ a short list of options in the context of my preferences. We all know rankings and preferences are affected by the number of options provided and the individual preferences of the user.

if you don't know shit about computers and want to pay twice as much money for half the performance, then buy a mac

if you have a brain, can do internet research and educate yourself as to modern computers, then buy a pc

You know you can respond to an existing thread with a targeted question, right?
