Living on campus- Apartmentmate, roommate, or studio Forum

So getting ready for housing. Whats a good pick, having an apartmentmate where we share a house but have diff rooms, rent a studio by yourself, or live with a roommate. What do you guys think, especially those in 1L. Any pros and cons? Will it be more competitive since if we see each other studying, we tend to study more etc..
