T14 Law Graduates
I posted this in another section but thought it would get more traffic here-
Does anyone know of any T14 recent law graduates from the past few classes who are finding it hard to land a good legal job, and if so, what are they doing now? About how common is it to find recent law graduates from these schools struggle to find good legal employment? Thanks!

Yes, lots. As a 3L who is approaching the last couple of months of law school, I'd say a good 15% of my class doesn't have anything good lined up.Tarheel1234 wrote:I posted this in another section but thought it would get more traffic here-

How significant would you say is 15%? Frankly, I think anything less than 100% coming from Northwestern is not good. Thoughts?

Despite the gloom and doom TLS mentality, I think that if 15% is accurate, that is great. People always say "Don't waste your money on law school, go get a job!" That isn't always an option. I went to a large state university, and I would say that 15% was probably the employment rate for people graduating with a bachelors, not the unemployment rate.Tarheel1234 wrote:How significant would you say is 15%? Imagine 1 in 6 of your friends staring down at $200k of debt with no prospects.fanmingrui wrote:ThisBr3v wrote:15% seems pretty goodrayiner wrote:Yes, lots. I'm imagining 5 of 6 of my friends staring down at about $50k of debt with no prospects. I'll take the odds you gave me.rayiner wrote:

The legal market is not the only one that took a huge hit. I don't know a single person from my graduating class who was able to get into I-banking. Most had to go to local banks to work as tellers and move up to loan officer positions.

I graduated last May, and I lucked out finding something. I know at least one of my classmates is still unemployed.
