Pretty new to the site, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

How exactly does the interview process for most schools work? Is it school specific? I am not sure if after I send in my apps they request me for an interview or if I'm supposed to request an interview before/during/after I send in my apps. Or is an interview ancillary and not required at all??

With one exception, they don't exist or exist only for informational purposes.

Thank you very much. A few of the schools I applied/am applying to, I say people on these threads mention an interview, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the boat on anything.

Some schools will request an interview with you. For ex, GULC does this with some of their applicants, Harvard does this with all I think. But this is not the norm.

Besides H Vandy and Northwestern are the only other schools that really require an interview to be accepted as a general rule.
