I'm currently a sophomore at a top US school (top 40), and I've put in decent thought into going to law school for a few years now. I'm a math major, so naturally my GPA isn't exactly perfect (3.22, but the next few quarters are not terrible, should get into the 3.5 area soon). I'm consistently getting in the 168-171 range when doing practice LSATs, so I'd likely be a splitter at some of the more decent schools.
I really have no intention of going into big law, just a job that would enable me to support my family. As a military child, I have no particular ties to any particular region, so I'd feel fine moving about.
Ohio in particular as me very intrigued due to it's low cost of living, relatively moderate political leanings, and it's ranking as a location to raise a family. I'm still deciding whether I'd like to continue my mathematics education, or go into law, but either way, OSU would be a really convenient choice for this life decision.
Long story short, if I plan to live in Ohio, would going to OSU prevent me from getting any jobs in the area? Would I suffer from the non T14 unemployment problem?
So any Tier 1 is decent, if you plan to live in that state? Forum

To answer the more general question in the thread title, I'd say yes, with a carve-out for ridiculously over-saturated states like California and New York.
As to OSU, I think you'd be fine, but I'll let someone with more knowledge regarding the region weigh in.

If you actually score in that range, aim higher. As to your question, OSU is decent, but then again, anything outside the T14 really is hit or miss

If you're also from the state. E.g., Grew up in Ohio --> Case Western UG --> OSU = totally credited.
Whether or not you're T14, you're going to need ties to get a job like that (anything non-BL**) anywhere you go.
**I don't actually know about public sector work, but I do know about firm jobs.
