Winter Break Mail

Post by bobbyh1919 » Mon Nov 28, 2011 10:09 pm

For all of us still in college and living on campus, winter break is rapidly approaching. Right now all my acceptance letters, scholarship offers, etc. are going to my school address. Unfortunately I'll be away from school for a full month and will probably go crazy not seeing what is being sent to me. Anyone else worrying about this and have an idea as to how mail can be sent to our home addresses?

If not, oh well, just gonna be one longggg month.

Can you get a friend to check it for you? Leave the RA your mail key or something?

Haha, I mean people talk about checking their status checkers obsessively. I feel like not wanting a scholarship offer to sit in a mailbox I don't have access to for a month sounds reasonable.

Go to the post office, you can give a temporary forwarding address.

Yes. The software developer will go look at your law school apps.

Yeah that's exactly what I was worried about. But seriously, I mean it's a legit site?

FWIW, I've been using it without any issues.

Oh nice. I misunderstood what it was at first. Didn't realize it was a program you would run internally on your own computer. That's sweet though hopefully its not blocked or whatever for next cycle.

The process is so slow, I'd be more worried that stuff would be showing up at home long after I'd returned to school.

Yeah, being a compulsive reader of old threads about the schools I want, it seems like it was kind of a pain/inefficient to forward the mail. Also you have to tell them like a month prior to when you want it to start forwarding.

I posted a similar thread (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5&t=172514). Should I e-mail admissions offices that I can only be contacted by e-mail for a month?

I wouldn't, but you can if you really think it's a big deal.
