Some schools have a section that asks what areas of law you are most interested in (international law, criminal law, etc.). Right now I honestly don't know what kind of law I want to study so that makes me hesitant to check off random boxes but I feel like leaving that section blank would give the impression that I'm not interested in anything...
Basically, am I reading too much into the question?

Yeah I can't imagine it makes a difference for your app. Just check off a few things that interest you- they're certainly not going to expect you to study those things.
