Would going 4 1/2-5 years of undergrad affect my chances
Would going 4 1/2-5 years of undergrad affect my chances. I was originally a business major at Suffolk University in Boston, Ma then I recently transferred to Stonehill College (more elite school) and changed my major to political science and international studies. This transfer of colleges and change of major has me credits behind now however going the extra 1/2 to full year is only for this reason and not due to any academic problems.
Thank you
Thank you

Nobody cares. It is all about the LSAC GPA.

Thank you. Has anyone gone 5 years then been accepted into a Top 100 law school.

Thanks, I am also going to assume they will see I changed both colleges and majors and this will be considered if curious why it took me 4 1/2 years to graduate.

I spent 6 full years in undergrad at the same college (with a semester study abroad) and got accepted to schools up to Cornell with a 3.35 and 170 LSAT. I also had 6 Ws, if that happens to be a concern of yours. My undergrad record was rubbish. Do well on the LSAT.

My ass took 5 years to finish my engineering degree. In at Northwestern. Especially with a school transfer and major change, they won't even think twice about it taking you longer.Miami781 wrote:Thank you. Has anyone gone 5 years then been accepted into a Top 100 law school.

They don't report length it took for students to graduate undergrad in USNWR, so no, no one care.

I went for 13 years, and I got into all the schools my numbers would predict (including some ranked in the 40s). I didn't apply to the T14 though... but I really can't imagine they would care about 4.5-5 years. Chill.Moxie wrote:Yes, many many people.Miami781 wrote:Thank you. ETA: LSAT + LSAC GPA = 90% of your admissions chances at any given school.

7 years here, at three different schools including a CC, and no (meaningful) work experience. I got t-20, if I had .2 more on the GPA I probably would have bagged a couple t-14s. No worries man.
