Tie for Orientation?
I'm reviewing my orientation schedule, and it has come to my attention that student photos are taken the first day. Should I wear a tie? FWIW, orientation runs 4 days, one of which is a "Community Day" for which we are required to wear a designated t-shirt.

Even on the T-shirt day, I would make sure to talk a lot about how you feel so strange in casual.

Let's stop with the how should I dress in law school threads. You guys have bigger things to worry about.

Funny thing is, I considered posting this in Off-Topic in order to get more responses, but I figured the responses in there would be mostly trolls. Thought I could avoid that in FAQ. Oops.
I feel like this is a different question than the "What to wear to class" ones... It's more about first impressions and the fact that there will be a profile photo taken.

Hey bro, I have a killer idea. Ask people who go to or work at your school, not the interbutts?

Hey. We give good advice. Look, 50% say he should wear a tie the whole time. (OP is a he, I assume. If OP is a she, OP should not wear a tie.)rad law wrote:Hey bro, I have a killer idea. Ask people who go to or work at your school, not the interbutts?

Re: Tie for Orientation?
Question isn't whether or not you should wear a tie, it's how many ties you should wear. You really going to let people have a jump on you on day 1?

Besides, it shows up on the main board, where the trolls reside.Hippononymous wrote:Funny thing is, I considered posting this in Off-Topic in order to get more responses, but I figured the responses in there would be mostly trolls. Thought I could avoid that in FAQ. Oops.

What kind of TTT school makes you all wear the same tea shirt to an event? Is it a law school or a boy scout camp?

What's with all the gunners trying to get him to not wear a tie and not do well in school and not have any friends and not have a study group and not get a job and not graduate and end up TLSing all day and all night?

Like what the most reliable highlighter brand is, or what font you should use for briefs and outlines.Bronte wrote:Let's stop with the how should I dress in law school threads. You guys have bigger things to worry about.

I did all my outlines in Times New Roman 12 point. The man knows what he's talking about.
ETA: Seriously, dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable. You're going to eventually let your guard down around your classmates (people look horrific around finals time), and you might as well dress in a way you normally do so you can make friends with people that would normally make friends with you.

Re: Tie for Orientation?
Good point in general but with the tie there is no need to bother pulling out the leash or gag -- it is right there.lawgod wrote:No. Hot chicks in ties are hot.
