I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this question on, but it'll do.
I withdrew from one class in my undergraduate career, and I know as a fact the "W" is considered non-punitive as I withdrew early and it didn't affect that particular summer term GPA or my overall GPA. I only dropped the class because my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and was given a measly month to live, so I obviously figured I should spend time with my sick grandparent over finishing a four-week summer course. (I dropped the class after week one of four.)
The thing is, I "retook" this course as I was really interested in the material. It is not marked as a "retake" on my transcript. Instead, I have a "W" for the first time I attempted it and an "A" for the second. Will LSAC view this in the same manner as a retake and figure in an F for the W even if it isn't marked WF?
I didn't come up with my specific circumstance in searching the forums, but I apologize if this question is really redundant. Thanks!

i actually had this same worry when i applied last cycle since i also dropped a class before the deadline then took it a few semesters later and received a grade.
lsac did not count the W against me. so you should be fine.

LSAC would never interpret a W as an F, no.

Just in case you want to be more reassured, I dropped four classes in various semesters for Ws and took them all at a later time and my LSAC GPA was not affected at all.

It doesn't matter if you retook a course from which you withdrew, and it doesn't matter that you withdrew from a course in the first place (as long as it didn't hurt your GPA).
