Fordham degree outside of NYC???
How far can a Fordham Law degree take you? Is it strictly regional or are there other states outside of NYC that will look favorably on students from this school?

A ridiculous amount stay in NYC. Much of it is self selection, but I still wouldn't go to Fordham if you have any desire to work outside of NY.

How far can it? As far as you have ties. I'm assuming that there are at least some Fordham grads in a lot of legal markets.
However just because it is possible does not mean it is probable and like the poster above me said, you shouldn't go to Fordham if you don't want to work in New York.

I was curious to know. I don't plan on leaving NYC and would like to work here. But life is funny in that you really don't know where you will end up setting shop (buying a home, kids, school districts). TLS stats that Fordham is in a place of its own. Well hopefully they will be able to pull themselves up further in the ranks.

If you're talking about further down the road, your ability to get a job elsewhere will probably have more to do with your work experience as a lawyer than the fact that your degree is from Fordham.whattheheck wrote:I was curious to know. Prior to Part Time being incorporated into the rankings they were typically bouncing around the 20s, and right before the crash Fordham's big law stats were finally even above BU/BC.whattheheck wrote:I was curious to know. But Fordham is still adjusting to the Part Time dilemma by shrinking it's PT class, so it should make its way back into the 25-30 range, not that it matters at all.
And this -

Thats comforting to hear. I was under the impression that employers will heavily way their decision on where you went to law school for a while.
