To apply for what?

Any good law schools: yes

This law school:

Dear XXXXXX,
The final application deadline for Valparaiso University School of Law is June 1. We feel that your academic credentials make you a strong fit with those of our current students. If you have not finalized your law school options for 2011, we encourage you to apply for 2011 with the application fee waiver you were granted. If you still have questions or concerns about attending Valparaiso Law ( http://www.valpo.edu/law/index.php )in 2011, personally contact me so we can discuss . If you have decided to shift your law school intentions to another year, please let me know so we can update our records. I look forward to working with you in the future.

you sign up for e-mails at a fair or something?

and i see. the chances of getting into "good" ones whose deadlines haven't yet passed are probably so slim at this point. i could see some of them leaving the door slightly ajar just to generate auto-rejections and lower their acceptance rate

I asked for permission to apply to a school beyond the deadline last year and was allowed to do so. But... it was April and not May.
