Good books to read to know more about the legal world

Post by Kimchi_smile » Sun May 01, 2011 5:47 am

A friend from a T6 recommended me "One L" to read during vacation. I've started it and really liked the book. Do you guys know of any other light books to read to know more about law school, Big Law, clerkship, etc.? Any recommendations will be appreciated.

I was hanging out with a friend of mine who was an attorney at a large firm (now he works for the government) and he saw One L in my car. He recalled having read it and mentioned that Turow's book was a bit of an exaggeration. I read it as well and thought it was enjoyable. Here's a summer reading list from UConn law school: --LinkRemoved--

"The Firm." Watch the movie, too. It's basically a documentary about Big Law life.

Goodnight Moon. Tough at first, but there is a wealth of info in there. You get the added bonus of attempting to find the mouse.

I really liked The Brethren by Bob Woodward and Scott Armstrong. It's very easy to read and has a lot of information on the Supreme Court.
