Patent Law - statistics true?

Post by wannabesolo » Mon Apr 11, 2011 12:11 am

I have an undergrad background in engineering, and I'm very seriously considering law school.

Is it true -- what the stats say -- that there is a high demand for patent attorneys right now? While there is no high demand for regular criminal attorneys?

I can't say if the statistics you are referring to is true.

But it is true that it is easier to get a better job in patent than in other fields.

I'm an engineer in law school. 1L.

Yes it is true, IP background helps. I find myself thinking "but it will help that I'm IP" all the time.

Don't think it's easy to get a good job. Just, maybe, not as difficult.

It's not like patent law is an undiscovered niche, but yes, there seems to be demand for it.
