Is LSAC multiple deposit list a hoax?

Post by lincolnadams74 » Mon Apr 04, 2011 2:55 pm

Can anyone confirm whether this is real? I haven't been able to find this on the actual LSAC website, and in this day and age you never know what's genuine and what's not.

"Multiple Deposit Notification

Each year, LSAC provides participating law schools with periodic reports detailing the number of applicants who have submitted seat deposits or commitments at other participating schools, along with identification of those other schools. Beginning June 15, 2008, those reports will also include the names and LSAC account numbers for all candidates who have deposits/commitments at multiple participating schools."

If you say that it's real, please provide the source link from the LSAC website to prove it.

Thanks. I don't know why I was unable to find that. To take the conversation further, the text there says:

"Each year, LSAC provides participating law schools with periodic reports detailing the number of applicants who have submitted seat deposits or commitments at other participating schools, along with identification of those other schools. Beginning May 15 each year, these reports now also include the names and LSAC account numbers for all candidates who have deposits/commitments at multiple participating schools."

My understanding is that on and after May 15, your name becomes available on this list if you have multiple deposits, but BEFORE May 15, your name is not available and only numerical data and the names of the other schools are available on the list.

Anyone agree or disagree with the way I am reading this?

The list is real, and I believe, after first deposits, is available, since I got emails before second but after first deposits.

Right, but do you see the distinction that I am asking about? The text indicates that before May 15, names of candidates are not included, but after May 15, our names are included.

Is that what the text is saying?

I got a phone call well before the second seat deposits were due (last cycle, which the dates were a little different), but after the first deposit. They had my name, LSAC #, all the information, etc.

It was before they were supposed to have it the information. So I am simply guessing that LSAC gathers it all from the first deposits.
