How do law-schools view classes that you've dropped? I have a decent GPA/softs/LSAT score but dropped three classes in undergrad. And finally, when admission committees are awarding scholarships, what carries more weight in their decision, a high LSAT score or high GPA? Thanks in advance.

Even though it's not good to have them, a Withdraw (which is what i think you are referring to?) is better than an "F".

also: the LSAT is more important

You have a very small chance at Cornell but pretty much no other t14, if you retake and score 2 points higher you are pretty much guaranteed NU ED...

Gotcha. I've been rethinking taking the LSAT, I truly think I can max out at about 174. How much do you think this would increase my chances at a T14? Lol Sorry to keep bothering you on a Friday night.

Theoretically if you get a 174 you have a decent chance at every school except HYS and Berkeley (they really love that high GPA) -- I would actually ED to one of CCN -- but again retake first then we can start talking...

As long as they weren't punitive withdrawals (i.e. they didn't count as F's in your LSDAS GPA), law schools aren't going to give a shit.

btw, military service is one of the few softs that matter. I'm not sold that you can't get into Northwestern or Cornell with your numbers w/o a retake.

You are right about Cornell (OP has a very small chance -- 10% at most IMHO) but Northwestern is another story, for low GPAs no one really gets in unless they hit the 170 wall -- even with crazy work experience such as experience in the military. Northwestern though is good for extreme splitters with WE and ED as long as you hit that 170 wall. e.g. I would say if the OP had a 2.7/172 with his WE and Ed'ed to NU, he would have a great chance of getting accepted.

Well I am an URM, but I didn't want this to factor into any advice that was provided. Nonetheless, it has come up, so I would like some more info/advice from anyone lol And I'm strongly thinking about retaking the LSAT (hoping for 172+ ).

If you are URM then you should have a decent chance at anywhere but HYS provided you don't apply extremely late in the cycle. No need to settle for NU.

OP, you're fine, don't fret. The adcomms will look primarily at your overall GPA on the transcript.
