Transcript Question

Post by malteaser » Wed Jan 26, 2011 2:23 pm

I'm a second semester senior applying this year with a GPA of 3.2 but am not opposed to reapplying next year if I do not get in anywhere I'm really excited about. My GPA is being dragged down by a low grade in a 100 level math class. I was planning on retaking the class because my college will only count the higher of the grades in their GPA calculation, but after realizing LSAC would recalculate the GPA with both scores anyway I decided not to. My question is would anyone think there would be any benefit to retaking the class anyway, just to show perseverance, because I know I can get an A (my low score was due in part to distractions from family issues). Or would it be better to take a new class and add more diversity to my transcript?
Any comments would be helpful,
Thanks everyone!

It doesn't matter in the least. Take the class that will ensure the best overall GPA.
