Protocol for sending schools application updates

Post by nchls23 » Mon Jan 10, 2011 11:16 am

So, I got deferred from my ED law school, and they asked for any additional info that could strengthen my app (like an updated resume, free-form essays, another LOR, etc). I decided to send an updated resume because I got a job for the summer and thought it could help push me over the edge, but would it be inappropriate to send the updated resume to the other schools I applied to as well? I would like them to see the updated work info as well, but will they even bother to include it with my application (I've already gone complete or UCR at every school I applied to).

Thanks for any word on this!

Send them whatever you want. No one will be offended. Most schools, even those you ED'd to (especially those maybe) understand you applying to multiple schools and they will not be offended. Furthermore, they likely won't even know what you have sent the other schools.

Fax the updated resume. Attach a note that its updated from the one currently in your file. Do this with all schools you applied to.
