Paralegal Certificate before law school?

Post by risktaker » Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:17 pm

I am going to be starting law school in the Fall of 2011. Would it be helpful for me to take a paralegal certificate program? I have had 0 experience with law related material besides one class in Undergrad. I am working a shitty job right now and I am considering quitting it to get my paralegal certificate before law school. Will this be helpful in any way? Thanks in advance.

It would be a complete waste of your time and money.

Yeah I wouldn't do it if you're applying next cycle. If you were applying Fall 2013 or something and wanted to work in the legal field until then I would probably recommend it, but most ABA certifications take a semester to complete and can cost a pretty penny. Just spend the next year working whatever job you can find.
