University of Wisconsin at Madison
So, I have a job offer in Madison, paying pretty well...moving to Madison, though, is a big commitment. I've always been planning to go to law school.
Then I looked a UW Madison's in-state tuition..of $16k a year...which is like a third of most schools where I live now (Dallas) and its higher ranked than all of them. Rank 28 law school for $16k a year? My debt would be extremely minimal on graduation. Thinking of it as a "backup plan" if I don't like the job.
Any thoughts on UW Madison?

Have you ever been to Madison? Would you do law school part time?

The company flew me up and put me in a hotel for my interview. I toured the city and I can see myself living there. Small, but not in a bad way. Big enough, I think.
I hear cost of living is really low. Hard to substantiate that.

Is there any specific reason you want to go to law school? It sounds like you could have a pretty good career regardless. And you can always go to LS after a few years of work.Brinson wrote:The company flew me up and put me in a hotel for my interview. I toured the city and I can see myself living there. If you want to practice in Wisconsin, UW Madison law graduates are automatically admitted to the Wisconsin bar. That, plus the low tuition, makes it a pretty sweet deal.

I've heard the UW law school also has some nice ties to mid-big Chicago law firms. Consider reading the short article on the school posted by TLS if you haven't already. You can find it here http://www.top-law-schools.com/wisconsi ... chool.html
