Are dogs allowed in law school dorms?
I'm think about getting a dog, but I'm also planning to go to law school. So is it allowed in the dorms? Thanks.

Not usually, but get an apartment that does...jrwhitedog wrote:I'm think about getting a dog, but I'm also planning to go to law school. So is it allowed in the dorms? Thanks.

I looked into this. Most schools don't allow them, but a few do. If you want to go to either Columbia or NYU getting an off campus apartment is outrageously expensive. I found a few threads saying there were some Columbia LS/grad dorms that allowed dogs. I had a harder time finding out about NYU, so my guess is that they don't allow them.jrwhitedog wrote:I'm think about getting a dog, but I'm also planning to go to law school. I haven't seen any so far (I have cats).
Eh, outrageously expensive per square foot, maybe, but not that much more than school apartments. Actually, you can find better deals in the village than NYU offers for housing. Columbia is in a much less expensive neighborhood. The tricky part about having a pet in NYC is that you'll want to get a roommate to lessen expenses, but you'll have to find one who doesn't mind the furry roommate.bdubs wrote:I looked into this. Apologies. I picked up a little NYC arrogance after 8 years of living there and expect everyone to know the neighborhoods.jrwhitedog wrote:Ah, what do u mean by village? NYU undergrad and law school are located in the downtown Manhattan neighborhood of Greenwich Village.

Funny, I never seriously considered whether NYU/Columbia charged reasonable rates (or bothered looking for that matter). I just assumed that they subsidized student housing because of the high cost areas that they are in.Lwoods wrote:I haven't seen any so far (I have cats).
