Law School Book Store Did Not Give Me

Post by Allitigator » Thu Aug 05, 2010 12:05 am

ISBN numbers of a few books that I need, but don't want to buy at the book store. They told me that a law was passed that forbade them from giving out ISBN numbers.

This sounds like the stupidest crap ever, but that's just me. I'm not going to buy my books at a law school book store, when I can buy them online for over 50% off the price.

Are the people that work at my book store a-holes, or what?

What?

That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time.

Go to the bookstore and ask to see the books, write down the ISBNs and leave.

This year, my school has ISBN's online too (along with the title, etc.) so my book shopping was effortless.

This. What school is this? The school's official list should have the ISBN numbers in them.

Haha enjoy. I got bodily escorted from my undergrad bookstore for doing just this, and then the manager ended up in the school paper for being a jerk. It was a lot of fun.

Actually a law was passed that requires colleges to provide required book lists to students at the time of class registration. Dunno if this applies to law schools though.

Just email the professor(s) for the class(es) you still need the books for, if the bookstore continues to be a giant tool shed.

if you know the authors, title, and edition of the books then you shouldn't have a hard time finding the books off of amazon at all. My school didn't provide the isbns either.
