Re: pepperdine tier
lol everyone can chill...
I used the search engine and I found the following results...
"Pepperdine has a great Business school but the law school is third tier"
"Pepperdine http://law.pepperdine.edu/ comes in Tier #1"
"The California State Universities (as opposed to some University of California campuses) are not tier one schools. Neither is Pepperdine (tier 2) or Loyola Marymount."

Re: pepperdine tier
Google gives the USNWR tier as the 4th result for "pepperdine law ranking." Oddly enough, this dumb thread is now the 4th result for "pepperdine law tier."

Pepperdine is in The Abyss.
Remember your rankings, kids. It's a simple 5-banded system:
1) T14
2) A few other schools I usually can't be arsed to name
3) The Abyss
4) Cooley, Florida Coastal, Ave Maria
5) People's College of Law

Re: pepperdine tier
All of those are explainable:
USNEWS recently got rid of its "Tier 2" category- calling all top 100 schools "Tier 1". For some reason, they still skip to Tier 3. That explains Pepperdine's website.
But they could also legitimately be called "Third tier" if you are using the term colloquially (not as USNEWS calls it). If the elite schools are "Tier 1" and the Semi-Elites are "Tier 2", then Pepperdine would be a solid step down.
In any event, it doesn't really matter what US news calls it.
