Books

Post by clsballer1 » Fri Jul 23, 2010 2:27 pm

My school doesn't publish which books will be needed when I start in the fall. Instead, you must purchase them new at the bookstore when you arrive. Is it ok to email professors and ask them which book I will need so that I can purchase them now.

worth a shot. I'm pretty sure your professors will be using the same books they've used last year, rarely will they decide to revamp and teach out of a different book. just email them and ask.

i purchased my books on amazon and saved lotsa moolah. downside is you don't get to see how marked/highlighted the book your going to get is. I guess it's a gamble I'm willing to take for the savings.

Before classes start for me (grad school, not law) I write the professors to express interest in the class, ask for any assignments due the first day of class and a complete book list. I have never had a negative reaction from any professor taking this route.
