Anybody getting cold feet!???
So, since the impending realization of all our law school dreams is about a month away, is anybody feeling last minute jitters and/or thinking that perhaps you may not be cut out for law school altogether?

I second that.itsirtou wrote:Constantly.
However, I personally think it is good to be nervous about it. For me it is a sign that I will work my ass off to ensure that I do well and ultimately prove my that worries were just that... worries.

Yes, though I'm not as concerned with whether I'm cut out for it. I'm fairly confident I will do o.k. My two main concerns are: 1. whether or not I'll be able to maintain my relationship with my significant other 2. whether or not I'll be able to enjoy my family as a lawyer
On the one hand, I could bail out now and take a fed job that would start at ~40k/yr but work 9 to 5 and enjoy great benefits and work/life balance + long-term stability. On the other hand, I expect being a lawyer to both be more intellectually stimulating & lucrative.
I've made my decision, just scared of the X factor that is what type of job I'll end up with and how well I can raise a family while doing it.
TL;DR: More scared of lawyering than law schooling for family reasons

If you took that to mean either I am not going to take law school seriously or that I'm not ambitious, you misunderstood. As difficult as law school will be, as time-consuming as it will be, it will only last 3 years. Lawyering will last 30+ (40+?), and law school is a fairly strong committment to lawyering. Thus my jitters are with respect to that longer term committment.calicocat wrote:Thank you for your contribution to the curve.aPosseAdEsse wrote:Yes, though I'm not as concerned with whether I'm cut out for it. Me too - prior to this I was an electrical engineer making 90k/year with full benefits and I just finished my Masters at Stanford...
Blah but I honestly can't keep doing technical work for the rest of my life

A bit nervous, mainly that I'm making a mistake by not doing 0L prep and worried that I'm not going to be mentally conditioned for the workload come this fall. But I left the workforce two years ago to work my way to law school, so all in all, I'm pretty fired up.

Re: Anybody getting cold feet!???
I'm pretty excited. I have had a bout or two of cold feet throughout the last month or so. Last month I heard about a pretty juicy job offer that could be possible for me, but I would have to express my interest in it. I went through about a week of cold feet, considering making a break for it and going for the easy money.
In the end I didn't even inquire about the job. This is what I want to do, it's still a little scary though.
