Post by rcharles » Fri Jul 09, 2010 2:30 pm

They're going to scan your picture and transfer the data to the NSA and Homeland Security so that face-scanners at places like airports can identify and track your movement.

...people don't like lawyers, and to be an aspiring one is even worse.

Law schools are notoriously racist and want to make sure you're their preferred race, of course.

Does anybody think these photo's would be made available to any potential employers?

The school rates your hotness on a scale of 1 - 10 to determine your section.

Seriously, though, I would guess it is for something like UChicago does: --LinkRemoved--
Photos for the Glass Menagerie

Each year the Law School puts together a student/faculty face book (a.k.a., The Glass Menagerie). The Menagerie includes a picture of each student in the Law School, information about home towns, schools attended, and degrees received. This information is obtained from your Student Profile form. The Menagerie is given to all students at orientation and is provided to faculty, to employers interviewing at the Law School, to prospective students, and to alumni. Please send a recent digital high-resolution photo of yourself. The photo should only feature you in the image. As you know, we have already been collecting these photos. If you haven't already sent in your photo please be sure that we receive it no later than Friday, July 2, 2010. Please send your digital image to glassmenagerie@law.uchicago.edu.

I wonder during the application process this upcoming fall what is to stop someone from saying you are a URM? Other than the obvious last name giveaways. Do they look into this? Say I had a father who died while my mother was pregnant and he was a URM, but my last name is white sounding. How would they confirm URM status?

my UG gave professors lists of students in their classes with pictures. it was probably nice for the profs, but came off as more than a little creepy to us.
