This is a silly question, I know, but I had to ask.

My undergrad e-mail will expire soon. What is an appropriate e-mail address on resumes (for law school and jobs)? Myname@gmail is taken. Is it ok to have myname followed by a number? Any other suggested formats?

My school also offers [email protected] (something like that). Should I stick with my school alumni e-mail?

Try messing around with initials to get your name in gmail. name####@gmail looks like something a middle schooler would choose.

Your name with a number should be fine. If you are worried, just go ahead and use your alumni email address. The main thing to remember is to keep your email professional. So long as your email isn't [email protected] or something equally horrifying, you will be fine.

it'll look better though if you could avoid numbers. if [email protected] is taken, try [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc. maybe try adding a middle initial

You'd be amazed. I was trying to hire someone to help with a huge case and I got a resume with an email address that was [email protected]. I couldn't believe it.

Oh yeah, I had a great time reviewing resumes/interviewing people to replace me last fall.

or

firstlast.jr@gmail

as all combo's of first and last name were taken, and i am an unofficial JR (father and I have same first middle and last name, but no JR on birth certificate) these both seemed safe to me.
