Waitlists
I'm sorry if this is an obvious question, but does anyone know how often people get off of the waitlist at a school in August? Is it pretty standard to choose a school, sign a lease, move in and be ready to start at one law school, and then get notified and move to the other school? Do people sublet? Or do they hold off signing a lease until the last possible second to save the potential hassle? Can you take back a promise of "attending if admitted" past a certain date? Thanks!

Re: Waitlists
Mr/Ms. Whitters,
Im in this same boat as you are. Its tough because there really is no way of knowing when one will get off a waitlist. Truthfully, one might not even be accepted.
My advice to you is this: If you've found a school you feel comfotable with, but are waiting on a much better school then make plans as if though you were just going to the school you are accepted at. Also, ask yourself why do you want to go to the school you're waitlisted at? Is it because you genuinely like the school and its programs or is it because its "higher" in the UNSWR rankings?
Good luck though. There are a lot of questions, but noone seems to have an answer regarding waitlists.

Re: Waitlists
Thanks, yeah, I'm just trying to figure the whole thing out. I just worry about the whole lease signing thing, because if I end up at the school I'm looking at right now, I want to make sure I'm not a million miles from the law school or that all the good housing will be picked over. However, if I get in off a waitlist, that is going to be a mess.
